And we all try hard in our life to get back to this “innocent” conditio n. This constant desire to return to “the child condition” is beyond time and history. It has been our past. And it’ll always be our dream for the future 藝術家吳瑪悧簡介 國立高雄師範大學跨領域藝術研究所名譽教授。 1985 畢業於德國杜塞道夫藝術學院。1990 年代,她擔任遠流藝術館叢書主編,透過翻譯引介西方前衛藝 術思潮。同個時期,她協助籌備台灣視覺藝術聯盟、女性藝術協會,並透過藝術村的共同研究,對文化政策 產生重要影響。 而她的個人創作致力於觀念藝術與行動,善於處理連結歷史、政治與社會議題。1995 年台灣首度參與威尼 斯雙年展,她是展出藝術家之一。2000 年以來,她的藝術實踐進一步拓展至生態環境與社會參與式藝術, 作品於新加坡雙年展(2022)、台北雙年展 (1998, 2008)、福岡亞洲美術三年展 (2005) 及昆士蘭亞太當代 藝術三年展 (1999) 等展出,2023 年於高雄市立美術館舉辦『盪—吳瑪悧個展』。 2016 年她獲頒台灣第十九屆國家文藝獎,2018 年共同策劃第十一屆台北雙年展,2020 年起擔任國立臺南 生活美學館『藝術轉動社區』計畫主持人。2022 年她獲得洛克斐勒基金會獎助,到義大利 Bellagio 中心駐村。 Born in Taipei and trained at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in Germany, Wu Mali is a leading figure in conceptual and socially engaged art in Taiwan. Since the 1990s, she has played a key role in introducing Western avant-garde discourse to Taiwan’s art scene, while also co-founding the Association of Visual Arts and Women’s Art Association. Her work often engages with history, ecology, politics, and local communities. Wu represented Taiwan in its first participation in the Venice Biennale (1995), and has since exhibited at major international events including the Asia Pacific Triennial (1999), Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale (2005), and Singapore Biennale (2022). In 2018, she co-curated the Taipei Biennial “Post-Nature: A Museum as an Ecosystem”. She received Taiwan’s National Award for Arts in 2016 and was awarded the Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Center fellowship in 2022. She currently leads the “Art for Social Change” residency program supported by the National Tainan Living Arts Center. 294
