序文 Preface ART TAIPEI 2025 Cultural Empowerment · Deep Cultivation for Sustainabilit Minister's Foreword Taiwan's culture represents a rich convergence of diversity, with the arts and cultural industries carrying the profound heritage of this island. Creative energies flourish across different fields and reach international stages, allowing the world to see Taiwan. Since 2005, the Ministry of Culture has supported ART TAIPEI, and through this longest-running art fair in Asia, we enhance the visibility of Taiwanese artists while demonstrating Taiwan's cultural soft power to the world through international and professional exchanges. Cultivating young artists is a fundamental foundation for advancing Taiwan's cultural development. The Ministry of Culture has specially established the " MIT-Taiwan Young Artists Connection with the World" at ART TAIPEI and collaborates with the Taiwan Art Gallery Association to facilitate connections between professional galleries and emerging artists, assisting with artwork transactions, art representation services, and exhibition setup support during ART TAIPEI. The Ministry of Culture further continues to support gallery partnerships that assist MIT artists in organizing solo exhibitions, nurturing Taiwan's emerging creators as they enter the international art market. In 2025, the "1 plus 4 - T-content plan" provides multifaceted support for Taiwanese artists and industries to reach international markets. The "1 plus 4 - T-content International Art Fair Subsidy Guidelines" support up to 5 domestic visual arts industry initiatives for self-organized exhibitions within Taiwan, and also subsidize domestic visual arts industries' participation in transaction-oriented international art fairs. The project is expected to promote 100 Taiwanese artists in exhibitions such as Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Basel in Basel, and Frieze Seoul, successfully enhancing visual arts energy and international competitiveness. The Ministry of Culture strengthens national unity through culture and the arts, supports the cultural and artistic sector, provides various forms of assistance to Taiwanese teams seeking to engage internationally, and integrates resources from across society. It enhances the capacity for cultural content production, invests in projects aimed at expanding into international markets, and provides long-term support to foster a sound ecosystem for the domestic visual arts industry. Together with creators and the arts sector, the Ministry of Culture continues to cultivate Taiwan’s fertile cultural soil, enabling more cultural activities and performances from Taiwan to reach the global stage. 8
